Who we are: 
Molak Corporation is one of the largest independent entertainment companies in the great state of Texas! We currently operate food and beverage, retail, and entertainment venues in New Braunfels and San Antonio. In New Braunfels, we operate many of the businesses located in the Gruene Historic District. These include Gruene Hall, The Gristmill, Mozie’s, Cantina Del Rio, Grapevine, Cotton Eyed Joe’s, Company Store, Gruene Antique, numerous properties leased by others, as well as the parking and green spaces. In San Antonio, we have two restaurants: the iconic Josephine Street and our newest concept, Down on Grayson. Both are located near the Pearl, a culinary and cultural destination. 

Position Summary: 
The ideal Staff Accountant we are looking for will have experience preparing journal entries, assisting with monthly and year-end close, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation, and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the closing of books every four weeks. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys the day-to-day activities of accounting and working in a fast-paced environment – and having fun while doing so. 

What you will do: 
  • Prepares, reviews, and verifies the retail daily sales activity for four operations and processes the corresponding journal entries
  • Prepares, reviews, and verifies online ticket sales for Gruene Hall and processes the corresponding journal entries
  • Preparing and reviewing General Ledger journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for month-end close which include but are not limited to Rent allocations, TABC Accruals, Use Tax Accruals 
  • Performs bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts
  • Seek to identify areas where efficiency and process improvements are needed and, subsequently, support the importation of identified new/updated processes, procedures, or routines 
  • Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable 
What we are looking for: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 
  • At least three (3) years of general ledger, journal entry, and balance sheet reconciliation experience 
  • Advanced Microsoft excel experience
  • Experience with restaurant 365 is highly preferred but not required
